by Lady Lee ini want to start by saying i will not participate in discussion here about my resignation as a moderator at jwn.. simon please consider this as my resignation from that position.. i have been posting on this board for almost 12 years.
i know some of you a lot, others a little and some not very well at all.
i have remained here for those of you who have needed support as you make the transition out of the wts, who needed someone to listen to your experiences of abuse at the hands of jehovah's witnesses, and to both laugh and cry with you as you progress out of the watchtower society.. we know that we have all experienced the cruelty of abuse of one kind or another.

In her OP, LL made it clear that she was not "just" conveying well wishes to the "silent" ones of JWN and - as if she anticipated readers would react to the subtle judgements - she also made it clear she would not be discussing what she wrote. All that is accepted.
However, that does not stop us from discussing it which - because she put it on a public forum - is perfectly okay. I also acknowledge that not everyone saw her OP as negative. I did - and I "own" that as an opinion, even though that has been construed by at least one poster as "proof" I am "a control freak". Again, if we venture opinions on this forum, not everyone is going to agree with us - and some are even going to resort to labeling to hammer home their different opinion. So be it.
Lady Lee made a largely favorable impression during her years as a moderator on this forum - something that cannot be forgotten. As with all people who come and go on this forum at their own free will, that is their choice and I have seen nothing that would prevent her posting here again if she so chose.

Why suggest taking it to PM? She is free to post a clarification to her original post or a reaction to others comments here if she likes just as others are free to interpret and react to her comments on this thread. If she wanted to say goodbye or resign by PM she was free to do that but she chose to say goodbye on a public thread on a public forum so I would guess she would expect to receive reactions here.
On another note... Check out her post count at the top of this thread... what's up with that? It seems like we've lost over 100 of her posts... seems like this is going on with other posters too.

I also initially thought it would be better for a moderator on a discussion board to hand in a resignation to the board owner privately and was surprised that LL choose to announce her departure the way she did but then I looked back at the thread she had locked at Cedards request and noticed that Simon apparently choose to correct her publicly rather than doing it more privately. Hopefully be now they've both had a chance to think over how they might have handelled things differently and perhaps in a way that would have shown each other and deference that they both deserved.
